71-er Golpo aspires to celebrate Bangladesh's rich history and diverse cultural heritage through creative expression. It is brought to you by a group of young professionals and students from the DC/MD/VA area. As members of the post 71 generation, we recognize that youth has been a powerful force in ushering societal change. We seek to ignite the imagination of the new generation of Bangladeshis and Bangladeshi-Americans and inspire active citizenship.
Each year the proceeds of Ekattue’er Golpo events are used to support various Bangladeshi development initiatives. The proceeds from the 2007 show will be donated to the Cyclone Sidr relief, Liberation War Museum and a project that ensures food security for 300 families in Bangladesh.
